Help

Frankly, publishing large-dimension images on the web sucks! What are you supposed to do? Just throw a 2200 pixel by 1800 pixel floorplan image on the web and hope either the audience has a browser which will automatically resize the image, or has the patience to use their scrollbars to get to the part of the image they want to see?

Large dimension images, such as floorplans, seating charts, and class diagrams are very hard to put on a web page without compromising the integrity of the image. To help solve this problem, you can use SoarPort.

What is SoarPort?

SoarPort provides a rich user experience for viewing large dimension images via an interactive "SoarPort" which allows users to control the motion of the image as if they were soaring overhead.

Okay...why would I want to do that?

Perhaps you are a software developer wanting to display a class diagram or the architecture of your software application. Or maybe you are a real estate agent looking for a more engaging way in which to represent a property. Possibly you are in the tourism industry and want to provide a unique way for tourists to view the insides of things like planes, ferries, hotels, and concert venues. And maybe you are simply an enthusiast of the technology behind SoarPort and want to participate on your own.

Hmmm....maybe. So how do I add an image to SoarPort?

Easy. First, sign up and you will have access to the tools you will need to get started. Adding an image to SoarPort is simple: you can upload a single, large dimension image. Once the upload is complete, we do the rest - zooming and configuring your source image into the format required for our engine.

What is a large dimension image?

A large dimension image is an image whose width and height make it too large to be seen on a single screen. We recommend your large dimension image should have a width and/or height of about 2000 pixels (or more) to make the most effective use of SoarPort.

So? Then what happens?

Great question! Once your SoarPort is complete, you can embed your SoarPort right within your own pages. Your SoarPort will look as though you coded it yourself. Its kind of like how YouTube embeds videos in web pages. You add a small amount of HTML to your own web page, and we do the rest.
